What are Liberation Groups?
Young Greens Liberation Groups represent individuals and communities which face current and historic oppression. These groups ensure that often marginalised voices are well represented and heard at all levels of the Young Greens. Membership of these groups is open to any Young Green who self-defines as sharing the identity of the group.
Currently, we have eight different Liberation Groups, all with varying levels of activity. So, this Convention is YOUR chance to get involved! These include:
- Young Greens Disability Group
- LGBTIQA+ Young Greens
- Young Greens of Colour
- Under 18s Young Greens
- Women Young Greens
- Women of Colour Young Greens
- Trans Young Greens
- Young Greens Sex Workers
This year, we're working with various Liberation Groups to amplify inclusion and ensure representation. Committee Roles are available for certain Liberation Groups, with Co-Chair elections for others, more info below. Don't worry if you're not elected, there'll be plenty of ways to get involved with our Liberation Groups - but if you're passionate, please stand for election!
