Sometimes, an amendment can be perfectly valid in achieving the purpose of the original amendment, but simply requires a change to another part of the ruling documents, for example, another area where the main topic of the original substantive amendment is referenced.

I think rather than deleting this could have done with a clause that said something like "with the exception of where the amendment is for consistency" or say "amendment can't impact things irrelevant to the topic of the motion"
